第二年參加OIA辦的Study Abroad攝影比賽，入選了三張，和大家分享。

這次投的稿都是這幾年在德州拍的作品

Scene of Water and Sky__This beautiful dreamland is one of the 25,000 pearls on the Southern High Plains. These playa lakes are not only important for the maintenance of biodiversity in this region, but also critical for recharging the Ogallala Aquifer which humans and agriculture rely on. What on earth can be better than to end 12 hours of field work with this kind of glamorous sunset!!

這張是第二名的作品，之前其實就有貼過（請見風捎來的消息），這樣的雲在西德州也不多見，在一天十二個小時的鳥調查之後，看到這樣的風景讓人放鬆不少。

Birds in Flight___I almost forgot to breathe when I captured this haunting moment on the ferry. But when there are too many birds flying around you, you will come back to earth quickly as droppings fall from the sky. Whoops!! The laughing gull, a white bird with a red beak, black head, and tiny white eyebrows, is one of my favorite birds.

Spirited Prairie Dog___They are not real dogs, but they do bark!! This is the unique way these underground architects communicate with each other in their “Prairie Dog Town”. The black-tailed prairie dog was once the most abundant resident on the Great Plains before humans invaded the prairie area. I took this picture when this individual, that I called “Mr. Scar” because of the scar on the side of his body, was taking a break from construction of his burrow.

牠的中文名字叫黑尾草原犬鼠，我給這隻取名字叫「刀疤鼠」，因為左邊側面的腹部有個舊傷痕，前年夏天有一陣子在做完調查後每天去洞口守著牠拍照，想把它挖洞的過程寫成刀疤鼠日記，遙遙無期啊，哈。
